The More the Merrier…. I have an old Giro Gila helmet that’s been used endlessly and kept me alive of all the fall offs from dirt to road. When the pads were getting old and degrading due to years of wear I searched for replacement pads on the helmet. From the OEM pads compared to the universal pads there’s only a couple of bucks difference less then the OEM. Decent pads but lacking good adhesive I have an older Giro E2 helmet that fortunately has not been involved in an accident but in which the pads have basically decayed away. So I ordered this set to replace most of those older pads. The pads in this set seem decent, not great but decent. They do absorb sweat and they are holding up but at the same time, I am not sure they are made of the highest quality materials. My favorite helmet is still in great shape Foam is the first thing to wear out in a helmet. My favorite helmet is still in great shape, and matches my bike, but the foam pads have rotted away from sweat and friction. The non-biodegradable styrofoam is the last thing to age – unless you crash! This is a decent generic replacement foam for helmets. Replacement foam does not have to be exact, because foam pads are there for comfort, not for safety. The styrofoam provides the compression that will save your skull in a crash…
