Cat-Ears are proven to be the most effective Wind Noise* reduction products of their kind (see chart).
They have been independently tested, reviewed, and recommended by Bicycling and Outside Magazines.
The mid-sized AirStreamz, based on PileTech materials engineering, are recommended for Casual to Club Club Cyclists.
Aero-acoustically developed, AirStreamz are made from soft pile materials that interact with oncoming wind (dampen / dissipate / deflect) – reducing the intensity of noise producing wind turbulence.
Cat-Ears products are sound permeable for safe road cycling. “Wind Noise can inhibit one’s ability to distinguish traffic noise. Cat-Ears don’t restrict hearing while others I’ve tried do.” – Adventure Cycling Association.
*Wind Noise is a complex phenomenon spanning aerodynamics, acoustics, and the physiology of human hearing. The amount experienced depends on factors like: 1) speed, 2) riding position, 3) head shape, 4) turbulence, and so on. With Cat-Ears, wind noise levels are reduced by 14-16 dBA between 20 and 20k Hz. This is a reduction in sound pressure level of ~75%. But microphones and ears behave differently. And while the amount of perceived wind noise reduction averages ~60%, we stand behind our products as the most effective devices of their kind on the market. Material effectiveness has also been tested at Antioch University.
“Cat-Ears work dramatically well. I found I was enjoying rides more, simply because I could hear more of what I wanted to, and less of what I didn’t.” – Bicycling
Designed with air ‘flow through’ porosity, Airstreamz wick away perspiration.
NOTES: Please follow all the attachment instructions.
Not recommended for Specialized, Nutcase, Bern helmets.
Our high-tech acoustic material reduces the most wind noise.
Cat-Ears need to rest against the face for optimal performance.

They make you faster All the other reviews of these indicate they work great at reducing wind noise, but I didn’t see any that mentioned how they make you faster. I found that some of the sensation of speed comes from wind noise. When I put these on, I kept thinking I was going slower than I really was because the wind noise was reduced and therefore I worked a little bit harder and would end up going faster than I used to. Hence these make you faster :)The only downside is the appearance (hence 4…

Makes Aftershokz microphone usable while riding a bicycle Originally got these to cut down on the wind in my ears while I ride my bicycle. Worked well and I did not notice them (no itching, no heat, not sweaty). I got a set for my wife. We thought they were okay but could live without them. UNTIL we bought Aftershokz Trekz Titanium bone conduction headphones to use as part of a bike-to-bike bicycle communications system. Wow! Without the AirStreamz, the Trekz noise canceling microphones were unusable with any wind hitting them. With the AirStreamz,…
