Channeled Ventilation
Specially designed ventilation channels on the interior of the helmet's liner bring cool air in through the front, pass it over the head and flushes warm air out of the rear ports. The Volt features deeply sculpted channels that keep air moving whether you're bombing it at 30 mph, or huffing it uphill at single digit speed.

Internal Reinforcement
In order to maximize venting and minimize bulk, high-end helmets like the Volt now feature internal reinforcements. These composite skeletons fortify helmets the same way rebar makes concrete stronger. This allows for bigger vents, more advanced styling and lighter weight, while still meeting stringent safety standards.

There are great helmets, there are so-so helmets, and there are total crap helmets. This one is in the great-awesome category! I mostly do road cycling, with a bit of mtn. biking when I can get a break from the city. I'll keep it simple: It's light, tons of vents, fits my head well (although the front pad feels to be a little snug)and the design is super sweet! I got this from Amazon almost 40% off, so it a was awesome deal. Just get one, you'll be super cool (literally)

I recieved the wrong item. Never happened to me before from Backcountry! So this might be unfair as far as review of the spesific item goes. It might be a great helmet - but it is not the one I ordered....

Fits great and has tons of vents so you get lots of cooling, which is crucial here in Texas. I got white to further help with cooling and it also looks really good (as much as a helmet can). The price was great - I think it's just as good as the Giro Ionos for much less money.

Excellent Helmet!!!! Great Ventilation!!! Light!!! Superb Fit!!! I have tried numerous helmets and this is the best so far - comparable to Giro's top helmets. It is also cheaper. Best of all is that it has a removable visor which allows the helmet to switch between off-road and on-road use. IT IS A GREAT HELMET FOR THE PRICE ON AMAZON.COM (and free shipping!)

A little pricey for a bike helmet, but out of all the helmets I have owned in the past, the Volt is the best so far. Works well for both the road and mountain.

4 stars instead of 5 because of price.
