Product Description
Make memories that will last a lifetime with the Schwinn 12" Roadster Trike. Featuring a retro-styled frame with a low center of gravity, it's easy for little ones to climb on and off during play. The tires roll smoothly and quickly, while the mustache-style cruiser handlebars, chrome fenders and a bell add a nostalgic flair that Mom and Dad will appreciate, as well.

Amazon.com Product Description
Featuring unique retro styling and a heavy-duty steel construction, the Schwinn Roadster is a great choice for your youngster's first trike. It has a low center of gravity thanks to a wider profile back, which offers added stability to prevent tipping. The swoopy steel frame has an easy step-through design so your tyke will be comfortable and ready to ride.

The Roadster has a bucket seat with an opening on the back for easy carrying, and the seat can be adjusted underneath with twist knob (no tools needed) to five different positions. The handlebars have textured grips and raised ends that help keep the hands from slipping off, and the handlebars can be adjusted using a wrench. The pedals offer colored rubber accents that also provide extra gripping so shoes don't slide off. It also features air-filled tires--12 inches in front, 8 inches in the back--which provide a smoother ride over bumpy surfaces.

For added style, this trike comes with a real wooden deck in back with a burned-in Schwinn logo, shiny silver fenders on the front and back tires, a bell on the handlebars (which can be removed), and tassels for added flair coming off the ends of the handlebars (also removable).

3 out of 5 stars great looking, but manufacturing quality is not that great   September 8, 2010
pb (san diego, ca)
I bought two of these for out twins, mainly because of the high reviews and the fact that they had inflatable rubber wheels making them easy to pedal.

At 21 months, they can just reach the pedals but are still too small to really pedal themselves. However they do like to sit in it and ring the bell and demand that we push them.

The product requires some assembly, but it is not too hard. As soon as I unpacked it, I noticed that the paint job wasn't really good, and the paint would quite easily flake off, even for minor nicks. also some of the fork joint (where it attached to the frame) components are made of plastic, and I am not sure how durable this will be.

On one of the bikes I assembled the bars were uneven so I couldn't really tighten the nut that attached the frame to the rear. Again on of the bikes I assembled the front wheel doesn't turn smoothly and makes a clicking sound.

I haven't check other products in this price range, but I was expecting something better especially since this carried the Schwinn brand.

5 out of 5 stars Great trike   September 5, 2010
SAO (Portland, OR USA)
We got this trike for my little boys second birthday. He LOVED it, and wanted to get outside right away to ride. He can't quite reach the pedals enough to pedal, but he is really close. He does go really well with pushing with his feet, and has a great time. It is a fun and retro looking trike too. I would definitely recommend this trike.

4 out of 5 stars Nice trike!   August 30, 2010
GARY
This is a very nice trike and my 2-year-old loves it. It's way less tippy than an old style trike, but it will tip if he corners too fast (he's a wild boy). For less tippy-ness I think you would have to get a big wheel.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Tricycle   August 21, 2010
Mary Newman (Maurertown, VA)
I bought this trike for my granddaughter's 2nd birthday. She absolutely loves it. Very well made and well worth the price. She will be able to use it for at least 3 years. If it's safety you're looking for in a tricycle, I would HIGHLY recommend this one.

5 out of 5 stars sweet toddler ride   August 17, 2010
Nicole Caroline Lawrence (Garden Grove, CA)
I got this bike for my 3 year old son. I thought it was going to way smaller than pictured... but it was great. He loves it and it was really easy for him to learn how to ride on this bike. It is really sturdy and very hard to tip over. Great overall. Very satisfied!
